Why us
Why buyers choose Self Storage Lock
We make locks for self storage — and not much else. That narrowness is why a door fit, a key plan and a delivery date can come back in the same answer as the price.
Six things we do differently
Not adjectives. Six things you can check against any other quotation you are holding.
- Seven storage families, one factory
- Disc padlocks, cylinder locks, combination padlocks, roll-up door latches, hasps, overlock hardware and key systems. One specification standard, one inspection routine and one shipment — instead of four suppliers and four lead times.
- Quoted by configuration, not by unit price
- Material grade, quantity, customization and trade term are priced as separate lines, so two quotations can be compared item by item rather than at the bottom line.
- Eight credentials, with the limits stated
- SGS supplier verification, ISO 9001:2015, CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, CPR and ISO 9227 — and a plain statement of what they do not cover for US projects.
- 99.3% on-time delivery, measured
- Across the lock and key-box lines. That also means roughly 7 orders in 1,000 may run late; when one does, we tell you before you have to ask.
- Built for private label and e-commerce
- Custom packaging, retail cards, serial marking and small trial runs for distributors who sell online as well as through branches.
- About 20 new storage models a year
- Developed by a five-person engineering team, checked against real unit doors, then added to the range — not copied from a catalogue.
Comparing supplier types, not just prices
An international brand, a trading company and a factory are three different businesses. Their unit prices are not the same measurement.
| Comparison | International brand | Trading company | Self Storage Lock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who you are dealing with | Brand owner | Intermediary | Manufacturer |
| Price structure | Brand premium | Reseller markup | Factory-direct, quoted by configuration |
| Storage range | Focused on one or two categories | Whatever is on hand | Seven storage categories |
| Door fit | Supplies standard parts | Cannot confirm | Sample checked on your door before production |
| Batch consistency | Stable | Depends on the upstream factory | Specification on file, batch traceability |
| Key systems | Standard packages | Not planned | Five questions, then a written key plan |
| Compliance documents | Complete for the brand | Partial or missing | Eight credentials, with the applicable limits stated |
| MOQ | Thousands of pieces | Depends on upstream | From 500 pcs, sample first |
| Customization and private label | Limited | Passed to someone else | Drawing, sample and packaging handled end to end |
| Re-order consistency | Stable | Higher risk | Produced to the specification on file |
A lower quotation is not automatically the cheaper option. Put the inspection record, the sample and the re-order in the same column and the comparison usually changes.
Certification and what it does not cover
We would rather name the boundary than imply coverage we cannot evidence.
| Credential | What it covers |
|---|---|
| SGS supplier verification | The factory was assessed on site; most recent audit in October 2025 |
| ISO 9001:2015 | Our quality management system |
| CE | Conformity with applicable EU directives for the product family |
| UKCA | UK market conformity for the same product families |
| RoHS | Restricted substances in the applicable electrical and electronic scope |
| REACH | Restricted chemical substances in materials and surface finishes |
| CPR | Construction Products Regulation documentation for applicable hardware |
| ISO 9227 | Neutral salt-spray corrosion testing method |
ISO, CE, UKCA, CPR and RoHS are not equivalent to US ANSI/BHMA, UL or local building-code requirements. If your project names a standard we do not hold a report for, we will say so at quotation stage rather than after the goods land.

The concerns we hear most
If one of these is the reason you are still comparing suppliers, read the full answer before you decide.
“Your price is higher than another supplier”
Four differences explain most gaps, and we will compare your other quotation against ours line by line.

“Will it fit my doors?”
Fit is confirmed by a physical sample on your door, not by a drawing or a catalogue photo.

“500 pcs is more than I need”
Sample first, phase by model, or combine families so padlocks, cylinders and latches clear the threshold together.

Questions about choosing us
What makes you different from a trading company?
We own the plant. Casting, punching, plating, assembly and packing happen on one site, so the sample you approve comes off the same lines as the production run, and the inspection record exists for the batch you received. A trading company can match a factory price; what it cannot hand you is the record behind it.
Your price is higher than the quotation I already have. Why?
Usually the two quotations are not measuring the same thing. The grade of stainless (SS201 or SS304), whether an inspection record exists for the batch, the trade term (EXW or DDP) and the packaging each move the number. Send us the other quotation and we will compare it with ours dimension by dimension, so you can see which differences are real and which are a cheaper specification.
Do you make anything other than self-storage locks?
Very little, and deliberately so. Seven families cover storage doors: disc padlocks, cylinder locks, combination padlocks, roll-up door latches, hasps, overlock and lockout hardware, and the key systems that tie them together. Staying narrow is why we can answer door-fit and keying questions in the same reply as the price.
How can I verify what you claim?
From documents rather than recognition. We are an SGS-verified supplier assessed on site, most recently in October 2025, certified to ISO 9001:2015, and registered in Wenzhou, Zhejiang since 2016. Our sister sites for padlocks and door hardware carry the same company name, phone number and address, so you can cross-check us. For a shipped order, ask for the inspection record of that batch.
Tell us what you need the lock to do
A door photo and a rough unit count are enough to start. You will get a fit confirmation, a configuration and a price — typically within 4 business hours.
